About Us
Our company, F5JPRO Models, was founded in 2018 by Pantelis Danavaras, following his long-standing involvement in aeromodelling in general, and particularly with gliders. Since 2019, we have maintained a physical store in the city of Larissa, central Greece, located at 118 Ipirou Street.
Our store houses both the exhibition of models and materials we trade (70 sqm) on the ground floor of the building, as well as our workshop (80 sqm) in the basement.
Who we are
Pantelis Danavaras
Back in 1995, my passion for aeromodelling led me to the local rc model field with a transmitter and a trainer rc airplane, and that’s where it all began. Involvement in competitive aeromodelling started quickly as I participated in aeromodelling competitions from a very young age, achieving some distinctions in the categories I was involved in (F3A, Q500, F5BFA-GR).
The glider and its flight were always what I enjoyed the most, so I participated in the first F5J competition held in Greece in 2015, and since then, I’ve taken part in almost all competitions of this category in my country. I’m proud to have represented Greece as a member of our National team in the four Category A FAI competitions held so far, including two European and two World Championships.
Frequent participation in F5J competitions beyond my country’s borders and the acquaintance with glider manufacturers inspired me to become involved “professionally.” Together with my eldest son, Nikos, we established the electronic and later the physical store, F5JPRO Models. Our primary concern is to have happy friends and satisfied customers as we are members of this aeromodelling “family.”
Nikos Danavaras
Growing up in a household where airplanes and flight were a daily part of life, I couldn’t help but get involved in aeromodelling from a young age. My father introduced me to the joy of flying from an early age, and I started participating in glider competitions in Greece at the age of 11, even achieving some distinctions.
During the years I was away for university studies, I took a break from the sport. However, my presence at the 1st European F5J Championship in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria, in 2019, rekindled my interest. Since then, I have participated in numerous competitions in my country and abroad, with the honor of representing my country as a member of the National team three times. In 2023, I managed to participate in the 2nd World F5J Championship, as my previous attempts were hindered by professional reasons related to my studies.
Christos Danavaras
The youngest member of our family, but also an assistant at F5JPRO Models, is only 14 years old today. He helps whenever his schoolwork allows, with a great love for flight, construction, and glider design.
Growing up with an older brother and a father who are involved in remote-controlled gliders, he began to show interest in remote-controlled toys from the age of 4.
By the age of 6, he had already made his first flights with gliders, and since then, he has continued the “family tradition” with several successes in the competitions he has participated in. He has represented our country as a Junior member, in two World Championships and one European Championship so far, with his best performance being 5th place in the last F5J World Championship.
